Back to questionable shots in general. I don't like discussing things on a list. Nor do I wish to gain a "rhino" reputation. If I am not sure, I will usually say good, just to keep things moving. Because of this, I tend to take lighter shots than many. Curiously though in my last few tourn...

evolution of a harness

There was a thread up where people put up pictures of their first armour through their current rig. I couldn't find it by the time I found the old pictures. So here is mine. My first armour. Cobbled together from bits and pieces of whatever I could find that fit me. (And some parts that didn’t. Th...

Open the battle with archers, give them a few minutes to play and shoot as many "greeks" as possible. Fight for 45 minutes or so In the last 15 minutes, send the "persian immortals" (known world chivalry) around the flank. Or, if we have enough people keep fighting until the pers...

Some marshals don't like "strongly implied".

The last event I went to most fighters did not know what half-sword was. I cannot remember if the marshal did or not.

I was told not to do it since the practice was in doubt.

I've got nothing against ashcraft, and I would rather see helms like those on the field than spun domes. Aestheticly speaking that is. My concern is that the faceplate will crumple like wet paper.

The Second one, that D. Sebastian posted, is much safer looking to me.

Tor, it is really a lot easier in practice than it looks in type. I've gone into tournies exactly like that and was able to remember all the rules no problem. A typical fighter (bargrill helm, and basket hilt) need only remember a few things. Hit 3 times = loose, hit in face or hand = loose, fall do...

The sewing part of that quest would just plain suck for me. Every time I try to sew on a machine I break 3-5 needles and have stitches on one side and knots on the other. Last time, my machine started spewing parts onto my lap.
