Re: Craigslist Armour - Vancouver Area
The arms are actually quite nice and he specifically states "LARP" in his subject line.
I'm not sure why the body armour and the helmet are not up to the same standards as the arm armour. I'm guessing the original owner got a hell of a deal on them and planned to upgrade later.

Wait, you know Baron Ketsu Toichi formerly of Black Diamond Atlantia? If it is him, the autocrat for Icecastle wants to get ahold of him. I'll PM you my email address. Re: Emorokian Arms
Still, I think it is inappropriate to do so to a new member. Emorokian arms may be a member of this forum, but he made his own bed and now he must lie in it. The morality of his side business is probably best discussed on the off topics page or the political page (which I do not frequent). And it ma...

Let me get this straight. We have a new member, and the first thing he is going to see is people belittling him over his choice for his first post? jdawd, let me be the first to say, "Welcome to the Archive". Now, in my fellow archivers' defense, there is already a full discussion on the subject. Yo...

Thanks. Its primary purpose is to keep the slit in the maille from gapping to wide.

Re: 2013....Show us your kits --part Deux--
Sans helmet and gauntlets I completely tore down the lamellar and rebuilt it and made new leg armour. I'm thinking of making new greaves and shaping them (I didn't make these) and adding some splints. http://www.bogpages.com/SCA-photographs/2013/The-Coronation-of-Amos-and/i-xr3XkgM/1/XL/IMG_5568-XL....

Need more shape and some splints to my greaves. My current kit. I've drifted away from my completely hidden leg armour because I have to drop my pants to put them on or take them off. Sometimes that is just damn inconvenient. http://www.bogpages.com/SCA-photographs/2013/The-Coronation-of-Amos-and/i-...

Paging Olaf Haraldson
Good Lord Olaf, Last year, at Pennsic, immediately following the Battle Of Hastings you presented me with a coin. Although I was unable to fight at the battle, you gave me the coin anyway and bid me to seek you out at or during the next battle (this year's Pennsic). I regret, that due to mundane com...

Re: 2" rattan in Meridies
I don't get it. Atlantia operates on SCA minimum standards, and I've never heard anyone grumble about it here. Grant you, I'm not at many events these days, but I'm sure I would have heard if grumbling about big rattan was commonplace. The minimums keep you out of the hospital critical care ward. Th...

Don't have high speed to watch the fights, but I'm guessing rather ineffectual.
Or rather, just as effective as a one handed sword to the body.

Re: Making compound curves with Leather?
You will have an easier time of you wet it. Personally, I don't think its overkill, but not seeing the issue I can't say for certain. You might want to attach it to the outside of the gorget rather than the inside, if your helm has room. This way your gorget won't get tighter on your throat and feel...

Every one you have posted is small to medium.
I wear a large, Would these work?
Also, can you post one with dimensions? I would like to know if it would fit over the triangular opening on my Linen Garb tunics.

If I were in the middle of a combo and got struck in the leg I would retract the leg and continue the combo as muscle memory allowed. However, If I were struck "between" blows I would drop first and continue to fight from that position. Though, I must admit I consider "Knee fighting" a silly proposi...

Wow, I step away from my comp for one day to watch Iron Man 3 and a thread fills up. :) I've never liked the elbow behind the shield rule. But it didn't really affect me because... 1) I use a centergrip. 2) I don't care for shields anyway. 3) I so rarely get a chance to fight my opinion doesn't mean...
