clean it up a bit and it would look really nice.

I would suggest some way of reinforcing that wing though. Maybe a flute going down the center.

I remember going to an event in Meridies one time. I don't leave Atlantia often. In my old Barony we were considered the lightest hitting area in the Kingdom. Too many new people in ill fitting, poorly made gear. The event I went to was in an area of Meridies where they were known to hit hard. In fa...

Let me know what you think Byram. I would love to be able to put a clacker on my polearm. Many people blow off a leg shot that they would have called excessive on the head. A clacker may help with that.

If I recall correctly (note, I am not a member) the rules for Adrian Empires armour as far as coverage goes is very similar to SCA. 14 guage helm instead of 16, forearm required, larger elbow and knee coverage. Armour is required to be made of "quazi" period materials, ie steel leather ect. modern s...

Yes, but I rarely fight sword and shield, it used to bore me. I prefer 2 handed weapons. However, I have found that I enjoy it a great deal more since I went to a center grip shield and cross guard sword. Technically this should probably be on the weapons board. I didn't think about that when I put ...

I don't see any safety reason why that particular sallet design couldn't have a bargrill instead of the face plate. You might try that.

interesting take on a sallet. I kinda like it. Did you modify a design you found here on the archive?

Are you in a combat club? 14 guage is pretty heavy for something that isn't designed to prevent an injury. If this is for dress, you might want to try some lighter metal

As far as I know there is no evidence of carved drinking horns. We have carvings depicting horns being used to drink from, and metal fittings for those horns. Don't do that, you should cure it with something. Even sanitized the horn is a raw biological product. I have heard bad things about drinking from uncured horns. The coating we used was mineral spirits. It is important to make sure that the stuff is USFD approved. Using a shalac or varnish is bad ne...

Try this m Adric, how long did you let the horn cure before drinking from it It should hang upside down for at least 24 hours, but that finish takes a full 72 hours to cure completely. Of course, that may vary with the brand. My Laurels have been using salad bowl finish for years now with no problem...

I don't use any padding at all in mine. And I am much happier with it that way. I use splinted leather leg armour and it used to have about an inch worth of foam in them. Got really hot and slimy after a while.

If you decide to use padding I suggest sewing some padding into your fighting garb.
