anyone have an atlantian calendar

this seemed like the best forum, since it deals with events and fighting. The Kingdom site is down, along with most of the barony sites I know. Those Baronies that are still up use a link to the kingdom site as their calendar. I haven't gotten a newletter since I moved. Does anyone know what Atlanti...

I agree. I think a coif and a couple little extras would work wonders.
nice hat though. How is it strapped? I did not see any padding in there and that gave me the willies. Easy keeping cool though I guess.

I had the same problem with my scale, eventually I had to set it aside and make new armour. The same thing is happening to my armoured surcoat as well. That one is salvagable though. Rivets number in the dozens rather than in the hundreds.

Never used one, but I have been told that if you are strapping one then strap it (and fight it) with your arm vertical instead of at an angle. I know a guy who claimed to have much more success this way.

I think the whole knocking your opponent to the ground idea was against the victorian chivalric ideal that we are supposed to be aspiring too. I for one do not wish to see it as a general practice. But at specific tourneys, like the Historic Combat Series at Pennsic, it was loads of fun.

according to what I heard the armourer who made all that is well known and reputable.
The first set presented to the producer and directer was maille with conical and occular helmets. They said they wanted more variety and fancier armour. So, the armourer, being a businessman, made what they wanted.

No problem, no one was born knowing this stuff ya know. anyway, I'm guessing you are refering to the era of gothic plate and such. Such full suits would have certainly been reserved for the nobility because of the cost. But that doesn't mean that less wealthy individuals could not have gotten plate ...

My Laurel tried to use horn when he was getting back into fighting. He ended up having to replace horn scales after every practice. Sometimes he had to stop midway through the practice because of his armour.

I don't know about bone, but I don't recomend horn for anything other than display.

sounds like the best board to post this on. Has anyone heard of either of these? They are going to be at an event I'm going to in VA.
