Re: Question for two-handed sword fighters...
snipped for brevity --in my definition, this bit of silliness is automatically banned by the rule that says weapons shall be used in the manner intended (paraphrasing here). But, not all will interpret that the same way I do, so the ruling on halfswording does remove any doubt or confusion. This is ...

Re: Question for two-handed sword fighters...
Out of curiosity, has any seen a crosscheck with a sword in any historic manual? I know there are plenty of historically valid techniques we cannot do, and many we can do that are not historically valid. This is simply to satisfy my own curiosity. Do we have any documented examples of a crosscheck b...

Re: Question for two-handed sword fighters...
I will, of course, abide by the rule. But I cannot understand why half-sword would be banned. Unless, they have fears that people will use it as an excuse to use checking blows to the face or attempt a murder stroke with metal quillions on the sword. Both of these would seem horribly irresponsible o...

Similar to these.

In fact, mine are windrose, but I got mine before he started putting the center line in them, so they are more rounded.
I wear them under linen pants.

I like your splinted greaves, but I have only seen them with a knee cop on the outside overlapping the greave.
How do they work with hidden knee cops? They look like they might bind up.

Its mostly maille. But I don't see how your going to get that gorget (neck armour) to work with a helmet and still be SCA legal. Even if you are able to get that gorget, I don't see how you are going to be able to raise your arms once those haute guards (the verticle part of the pauldron [shoulder a...

Colors - I picked out the colors from the cover of a book I was enjoying at the time. The guy on the cover was dressed in red and black with some gold trim. I thought it looked awesome, so I went with it. I still think the colors look good together. Eagles - When I joined the SCA in college I was fr...

I use something similar right now, street hockey pants. They work fine, but they are hot and a bit bulky.
Mostly I don't like that I have to put my leg armour on and take it off in the privacy (and heat) of my tent.

As you said, all of those things can be removed prior to putting it into a barrel of sand to get the rust off. My post was in response to Brandrkalden, who knows mild is more authentic but that he would not be good at maintaining it. I was simply agreeing. What was your point? My apologies then. I ...

Re: New Product Inquiry- STAINLESS WEDGE RIVETED MAILLE!!
Right, who's got time to roll a hauberk in a barrel of sand every time a rust spot shows its ugly head? Why would you assume it is a pure metal piece of maille with nothing attached to it. The steel could be blackened, which would cause you to have to re-blacken it every time you removed your rust ...

Its legal, it passes the appearance law here in Atlantia.
Though it baffles me that a plastic lammellar passes when a plastic breastplate won't. I guess its the metal color.
