Ah yes..
The eared dagger.
I never thought about that type.

Help me decide on a dagger design.
I have a really nice dagger blade on my desk right now. Its double edged, narrow and 13 inches in the blade. The only problem is...I can't decide what style to make it into. It could make into a nice, long rondel. Or I could make it into some form of quillon pattern dagger. I don't think I can easil...

I suggest talking to James the Just at Amazonia enterprises, as he does custom pommels.
I do not know if he can do the slot cut for you- but I have several pommels from him, and hes my first choice when I need something of the sort.

Thats as bad as someone I knew in Tucson, years ago. He had one of those huge Ghirardelli chocolate bricks, and decided he wanted to hack a few shards off of it. So he grabbed a steak knife from the kitchen, took it into his bedroom, and sat on the bed. He then proceeds to stab down into it while it...

As far as I have been able to tell by looking at many, many museum collections- the hussars fastened the spalders directly to the gorget- which was worn over the breastplate instead of under in the western european fashion. A peculiarity of hussar spalders that I have seen, is many seem to be cut in ...

18 gauge stainless for elbows and knees?
A question I have for more experienced armourers and fighters. Is 18 gauge stainless too thin to be safe for couters and poleyns? I'm leery of non-acetylene welding ever since I read that the properties of the flame have everything to do with whether you get a sound weld.
