Re: Large seax auction

By the way.
I will be leaving for a convention on the 11th.
A friend is letting me use his paypal to receive payment for this, in order to save time.
Its NOT an option I can use regularly, but I am under serious time pressures this year.

Large seax auction-closed!

Auction is now closed. Probably my last knife for a while. This is a larger seax than what I have offered before- the blade is 9 3/8ths inches long. Overall length is a hair over 14 inches. Cherrywood grip, full tang construction and peened. Rough mirror polished. Brass fittings. The blade has some ...

16 gauge stainless bazubands or vambraces....Denting?
Unless you block a sledgehammer with your forearm, I just don't see that happening easily.

A lot of fighters use 18 gauge stainless for vambraces.
It holds up fine, as far as I know.

Re: "Knights Armor" for sale on Phoenix Craigslist

I am a bit puzzled here.

was this a straight storage locker buyout?
Or was the gear in the locker stolen, and this guy wound up buying it legitimately only to find out that he received stolen goods kept in the locker?

There looks to be a knight's and squire's belts in that pile.
And I agree it looks like a storage unit or possibly a trailer.

Scabbards/sheaths are not normally included in my knife auctions.
As stated in the description, most folks usually prefer to make their own.
I can make one for an additional $25.

That looks a lot like the Westlig-StJerne sallet I bought that they did not make large enough for my glasses to clear. (Despite my clear written instructions..) The pattern is identical, so I'm going to say this is likely an armory of Westlig-StJerne sallet. (Its the tiny, awkward little triangular ...

Re: WTB: 30"ish round flat aluminum shield

Speaking from experience.... Use something like a dowel, a length of wire or a yardstick- something made of non stretchy material. Something rigid works best- its the easiest way to get a really accurate circle. I use a cheap wooden yardstick with a hole in one end and a sharpie taped to a piece of ...

Little bitty punch dagger blade for sale

This is a tiny little carbon steel punch dagger I made way back in the early 80s. I believe it was one of the first knives I ever made.. Certainly among the first 5 or 6. Its thin saw blade steel, and still rather sharp after close to 30 years of neglect. I found it in the bottom of a box of crap I ...

Why does this helmet keep returning to ebay?

Is it cursed?
Have the ebay goblins killed and eaten the bidders?

Did Indiana Jones swoop in and rescue it for a museum, only to have Belloque snatch it for sale again?
(Is the pawnbroker secretly Belloque?!)

I have one lying around, and I'm looking to clean out stuff I don't use. Its in the plastic original storage box, and in good shape. Since you ground it from stock, it doesn't absolutely have to have distal taper.
Originals were forged from lumps of iron, the the taper was a natural result of the process.

I wouldn't sweat it, personally.
