16 gauge stainless bazubands or vambraces....Denting?
Unless you block a sledgehammer with your forearm, I just don't see that happening easily.

A lot of fighters use 18 gauge stainless for vambraces.
It holds up fine, as far as I know.

was this a straight storage locker buyout?

As stated in the description, most folks usually prefer to make their own.

I have a set of both styles from Llewelyn myself, and I use them a lot.
Best tool investment I ever made.

Makes making cops a breeze- and just about every other dishing task I have ever set them to.

Since you ground it from stock, it doesn't absolutely have to have distal taper.
Originals were forged from lumps of iron, the the taper was a natural result of the process.

I wouldn't sweat it, personally.
