I'm afraid I don't think I can help.
I have some 16 gauge brass, but as thick as it is, it would only be useful for making something like trim pieces on the edges or whatnot.

Re: Modified GDFB European Breast Plate?
The biggest problem I can really see is- Its "one size fits most". If you happen to be close enough in size to begin with, it might work fine... But if you are too large, modifying it is more work than buying a RFTH blank thats made to your correct size in the first place. As an experiment...

Perfectly all right.
But the only real selling I ever do is what I make or have that I offer here in the AA classifieds.
In time, I may have a site to offer in stock items.
But that won't be for a while yet, if it happens.

The brass rivet/nails are solid brass?
It does not say in the description, and brass plated steel are so common, (And usually have the same descriptive text,) that I have to ask.
Thanks.

I made an experimental cup hilt for a rattan sword from .090 T6. I haven't quite finished it, and I don't think I will. Just too much work. For making armor, I think I'll try 14 gauge soft alloy and see how it goes. I've made rapier guards from some of the salvage I have- it holds up just fine. I ha...

Looks good. This is one I made for dagorhir years ago- It was the first and remains the only one I ever made. I got out of Dag, and I'd sell it- but I have no idea what constitutes a decent price for something similar. I've been offered less than it cost in leather a few times... -Badger- http://i4....

I've done an awful lot of things with old saw blades over the years. Frankly, for cutting out pieces for things like cheap spangenhelms, I use a bandsaw and a metal cutting blade. Re: FS:Legs $200 New Exquisite burgandy leather with bull's
Okay, do you have an image processing software like photoshop, photostudio or photshop essentials? Those will allow you to crop and resize the images to a small enough size that photobucket won't choke on them. (If you try to load images that are too large, photobucket will freeze or refuse to take ...

Re: FS:Legs $200 New Exquisite burgandy leather with bull's
I agree. Get a photobucket account and a decent digital camera. I know a lot of folks use a cel phone camera- but the quality is often bad. Really good digitals are available now for cheap, and they're worth it. Save in jpeg, and make the images no larger than 900 pixels on the largest dimension and...

I believe that would be annealed, yes. The edge bevel should be deeper than this, yes. As is, a chisel edge like this will cut- but not deeply or smoothly. The farther back the bevel runs, the smoother the slicing or cutting effect will be. However, the farther back, the thinner and weaker the edge and blade in general will be. "Wea...

Had a look at the mask tonight. Its in a medium size. I have a 22 inch head, and was able to get my head in the mask with my glasses on. The lame plates on the tassets are riveted solid, yes? No articulating leathers or slotted rivets. There simply aren't any attempts at articulation visible in most o...
