How reliable is revival enterprises for orders of buckles?

I'd like to order some buckles from them- but I keep hearing stories about bad service.
Mostly, its on custom armor.
Just wondering if they fill orders for small stock items reliably?

Re: New stuff from Reconstructing History!

I don't need them at the moment, but I do want a pattern set when they come out. I almost bought a pair of originals at a gun show a long time back..To pick the stitching out in order to make patterns. But I resisted the temptation. Its got to be about the only thing you can't find a decent pattern ...

Thank you for offering an Inverness coat pattern! Thats one of the ones I have never able to find, and I've wanted to make one forever. Any chance of men's early 20th century riding breaches? (General Patton/cavalry style- Also called "aviator's trousers" sometimes.) I drafted my own patte...

Re: FS- premade SCA legal weapons

I had someone link me the tutorial Sir Vitus did. I hadn't known of it till then, and it was most informative. The stacked leather construction was new to me- But it makes sense. I need to get more rattan before I can experiment.. Fortunately, I live within easy driving distance of Frank's cane and ...

Re: FS- premade SCA legal weapons

Interesting stuff. I used to make weapons for Dagorhir, and a few rattan pieces back in the day. This is making me wonder if I want to try my hand at a few realistic designs for SCA use. Are you using a thin strip of rattan on the cutting edges, or just a leather one? I assume some closed cell foam ...

Re: Does Anyone machine Aluminum?

What about the idea of stacking shaped pieces of aluminum to create the guard? Quarter and half inch flat stock, built up to the appropriate thickness and riveted/bolted together. Just file the outside bevels to what you want. I did something similar a long time ago to make prop weapons in much thin...

Yes, yes it does.
But I'll give Galvyn until 6PM sunday night pacific time.
That should be reasonable enough...I have a bill that needs paying very soon, so I can't give a long time for dibs this time out.

Okay.
Trying to measure these was a pain, as the tape kept trying to go into the knuckle depressions.
I get a bit less than 5 inches on the underside across the knuckles, and 5 3/4 inches across the top.

Its off of a large sheet of leftovers from a local metals supplier that deals in cutoffs, so the exact alloy is unknown.
Its all from the same sheet, though.

Boxlink mail piece for sale- 18X37 inch

Something I originally made in 1981 when I was a teenager and had no sources for wire in bulk. For the fabric- clear spray lacquer. It won't get super stiff. I'm not sure anything really can in a way that won't crack. Thanks. The grip is actually hand carved; not lathe turned. You can see irregularities if you look at it and turn it at various angles. I'm rather good at hand carving, and its a point of pride for me. -Badger- The proportions of that blade are just perfect, and the finish on the handle is gorgeous....
