Re: Pig face Bascinet for Sale

Your previous posts in other topics state that you are a manufacturer from India.

I believe the shipping would be prohibitively expensive for a US buyer.

Re: Crossbow for trade.

Hello Kerberus. While the Marshal's handbook only says "No crossbows may have modern pistol grips", I am fairly sure this would not be allowed on the field for SCA use, as its clearly modern in design. The marshal's handbook is here in PDF- http://www.sca.org/officers/marshal/docs/marshal_handbook.p...

Blade blanks for sale (seax, etc.)- sold

Both sold. I have a pair of blade blanks I am not going to finish anytime soon. I also need a little cash in order to get supplies to finish the 4 or 5 waiting.... So, you get to take advantage of my surplus...I don't have excess blades very often. The first blade is a rather large seax. 13 and a qu...

Re: Looking for a ACL/HMB/BOTN punch shield 14th century

Not sure. At the moment, I am dealing with a serious shoulder injury that is limiting my ability to work. From what I know of BOTN styled combat, it really needs a steel rim under the rawhide edging to prevent being split. It should be simple enough to make a 16 gauge facing, turn a half inch to 3/4...

Re: Looking for a ACL/HMB/BOTN punch shield 14th century

Hm, 3/4 inch plywood backing, 16 gauge mild steel facing and unspecified steel edging. Turned rim? Separate steel band on edge? Covered in canvas, and rawhide edging over the steel rim, with leather handle/strap? Doesn't sound difficult. But it will take someone who is willing and has the materials ...

You are correct. Mild steel can only be case hardened on it's surface, using compounds baked on at high temperature and quenched. (Casenit comes to mind, which I have used for frizzens and other black powder parts.) -Badger- If I'm not mistaken, you can't harden mild steel. It doesn't have the right...

My shoulder started aching again as I was working on sharpening it, and the edges are very small because of the narrow blade.
