Re: Recommendations for Gladiator Armorers

First important question - what will you be using it for? Good point; thanks for asking. Its not for SCA type combat but live theatrical shows, and film work. Not looking for absolute 100% authenticity(as there will be specific changes made) but definitely more authentic than what you see on 'Spart...

Now I have a lot of respect for jousters as its not easy...but its not real...in the real sense of real....as in strong possibility of imminent death by impaling through the neck or eye kinda real. Its real, just not as real. You have to define the jousting you're referring to. Are you talking abou...

That sort of begs the question... were the pauldrons that big on the back for balance? Or were they actually there for protection? If this is directed at me, and If I understand your question, all gothic pauldrons (of this particular style, anyway) are this large in the back. I don't think they nee...

Wait! that sort of thing isn't just limited to Martin Lawrence theatrical updates of "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court"? Check out the theatrical poster of "Black Knight". Thanks for the input, guys. I was looking for an armorer who works with steel. I need a couple of rivets added to a shield, a helm, and if possible, some sword edges ground down just a bit. Nothing fancy, but since I'm on the road I don't have the necessary tools and I was guessing I'd be passing by...

I use the armor for shows, not SCA or similar fighting. When I 'ordered' this, it was supposed to be zinc coated (to prevent the blackening form occuring) 1) if it IS coated, then it doesn't work. Big dissapointment 2) I already have a lot of mail, from waaay back when, some from Hug your Mail (IIRC...
