ok. so good news today. I got the grill off and got a lucky break. My Grandpa did some scrounging around and found a hand full of steel rivets lurking in some dark corner of his shop. Had the old holes welded up and ground flat and got the new holes drilled. Sometime tomorrow i will get it all reass...

Thanks Ciaran! My 30" aluminum shield is only maybe a pound lighter than my wooden one. I'm really afraid that the one I just made might be a little too light and floppy. Will have to wait and see.
