yea if i could work out a barter that would be my best bet. I'm always short on cash but i usually have some spare time at least one day a week to make goods for a trade.

ok. so good news today. I got the grill off and got a lucky break. My Grandpa did some scrounging around and found a hand full of steel rivets lurking in some dark corner of his shop. Had the old holes welded up and ground flat and got the new holes drilled. Sometime tomorrow i will get it all reass...

well the problem is that i need the helm this weekend and there is nowhere around here that sells rivets. I was just trying to find a good alternative to help in a pinch.

not really sure. I have been fighting in it for a while and never really noticed or had any problems. the grill is solid and doesn't move, but when it got checked with a gauge at the last event i went to the gauge went right through over the top bar and the brow of the helm. Ok so recently my helm failed an inspection and i have to remove and reattach the bar grill. Thanks Ciaran! My 30" aluminum shield is only maybe a pound lighter than my wooden one. I'm really afraid that the one I just made might be a little too light and floppy. Will have to wait and see.
