i do have a piece of 16 gauge steel i could use if i had to.

well the current shield boss i use is made of street sign aluminum. the stuff i have is the same. The one i use is dished about 2.5" deep and about 9" across with a 1.5" flange on it.

I have not yet made a pair of full leather gauntlets yet. going to have to experiment with those a bit before i am ready to sell anything like that. So for now i am just offering these half gauntlets.

How do you do it? I have a couple dishing hammers and a sand bag to dish in, but i have absolutely no knowhow when it comes to dishing metal. I really want to make a shield boss but i need some tutorial or something like that. my searches on youtube ended up with nothing, so i figured i would check ...

yes these are like normal half gauntlets that you would use with a basket hilt, just mine are attached to a glove instead of a separate piece that attaches with a strap across the palm of your hand over a glove.

I always take my gaunts off to get my helm off to get to where I can get a drink. Can't really get a chinstrap of a helm undone with my gloves on and my gaunts were always over my gloves. Makes for a very frustrated and thirsty Varukh.

yea they are a half gaunt substitute. I have used them for sca heavy for a few months now and i love them. The main reason i like them so much is that when i get all hot and sweaty and i am in a rush to get some water, they are a lot easier to get off than regular gaunts. I don't have to worry about...

Shipping on these gaunts is only about $5 for a pair with tracking so it wouldn't be much of a price change to pick them up at an event or have them shipped. That and as few events as I get to go to, you just might be better ...

I fought Sir Ashi in pickups at GW this year and he hit me in the leg hard enough to spin my thigh armor to the inside of my leg. I was definitely gal the armor was there, would have probably been done fighting for the day if I hadn't have had it.
