These are crazy gorgeous. I don't suspect these are sized appropriately for someone with bad/swollen knees and legs like tree trunks, are they?

Re: Gauntlet kits fs
Ok. Dave makes a good point. I'll take the mittens. Once I'm done with them, they'll have a mirror shine and will have rivets and gloves. I really can't take a loss. If they work, I get an excellent pair of mittens. I can send Paypal immediately. Let me know shipping to 14609 (Rochester, NY). Edit: ...

Re: Gauntlet kits fs
I'm kicking myself on these. I'm worried they'll be too narrow (The size mentioned is almost exactly the measurement across my knuckles.) to put any padding in them. As much as I really want them, I'm not 100% sure. I'll release dibs on them (the mittens), but if they don't sell quick, I may be &quo...

Re: Gauntlet kits fs
The mittens, will they "ground"? I'm looking at getting into polearm fighting and these might be the ticket for me. Because they're not riveted, I can polish them up real nice (with my new buffer) and put whatever color rivets in them I want (I have lots of rivets). Edit: Dibs on mittens.....

@Hallbjorn How's this,,,I'll send 25% of sale to Al including the sale of the simple cops? I would give more but I'm not selling solely for cleaning out the garage, I could use the money as well. That's going above and beyond the call of duty. I was mostly thinking on how the resale of old armour n...

Hallbjorn, this will be your only chance at getting a set of Allan's awesome greaves - he closed shop last month. A loss to all of us that wear armour and participate in the grande sports. I know Al personally, have been in the shop and watched him work on armour. I was saddened to hear he was clos...

WTB - Stainless 14th Century Spaulders
I'm looking for some 14th century stainless spaulders. Fast is more important than cheap (as long as it's still reasonable). This is the last piece I need to have a full kit for fighting (without using loaner gear).
Looking for recommendations or offers.

Re: Looking for junk comic books
I have a few long boxes of comics in the attic that I've been trying to sell at $75/box (about 25 cents per comic). It's all Marvel, Image and independent stuff from early 90's to mid/late 90's, with some random older stuff thrown in as well. I'm not sure how much shipping would run, but I'd be happ...

Re: Help Me Buy A Helm! (Pauldrons & Gorget FS)-Still Availa
Anyone want to try to put a time period on the pauldrons? I'm somewhat interested. I'm doing mid/late 14th century Swiss/German. Quick look makes me think they're for a later period, but I'm not sure.
I'd also have to figure out something for mounting/pointing them.

I always include the delivery confirmation. It makes the buyer a little more at ease that I've actually shipped it, and it's my proof, that if something goes wrong, that I did in fact ship the item.

He's not just pocketing "shipping profits" though. When he quoted me $15 for shipping for the helm he's making me, I was surprised. Now I understand a little better. All of the helms I've sold recently (to help pay for the helm I'm buying from KWT, thanks buyers! ) cost me at least $25 to ...

But if you want more names to look through, I would check here: m This. (and m too, but I think there's nothing different there.) "Behind the Name" doesn't really work well as a resource for finding a historically-accurate name. (The Manesse Codex respectfully suggests Wolfran , FWIW.) Fo...

Re: Coming up with an appropriate name...
My main concern is that it may be difficult to find a herald who won't be worried about offending someone by registering the name.
Odd thing is that no one has come out and said they're offended, or that its an offensive name. They just tell me it could offend someone.

Coming up with an appropriate name...
So, I came up with a name I was going to use, but have been catching occasional flak for it, and have had a couple people recommend I change it before it catches on. I was planning on going with "Adalwolf de Weck". Adalwolf being an older German name, roughly meaning "noble wolf"...

Get a hold of the Virginia State Attorney General. You'd be surprised how interested they'll be in getting involved in something like this. Last bump for Ringmaille before I try eBay.
With me paying shipping, I'm basically selling this for $250 now, as I expect shipping to be around $50, considering the shipping weight will be around 30lbs.
