There are several threads about them, pros and cons. Search Westland AND gambeson

We ( Westland and I) are talking about the feedback and the fixes, including the period buttons. Bottom line is, that for the money, you can't beat them.

Unpadded I think would be what we are going for. Linen maybe if we can haggle the price, but cotton pre shrunk for sure. I think there are not many places that the padded style would be comfortable to wear even for the northern guys.
