I use a 40 year old jigsaw. I lucked out and inherited it from my grandfather. It makes all the other jigsaws I have used look like wimps.

Well then! I have been working on this during breaks at work and have progressed to actually cutting wool and linen :D I have the the lining, outer material, and the cotton batting all cut for the body of the CdeB. The upper back piece has been quilted and trimmed to size. The lower back is approxim...

I havent set foot in my shop for two weeks now. I need to finish unpacking and most importantly, finish an order.
Its pretty depressing when life (read job) prevents shop time.
Don't worry, you'll be back out hammering soon

Re: Sallet - Questions on hinging the Visor
This is what I would do if it were mine- First, drill the holes where its marked on the skull and visor. Attach with nuts and bolts and test it out. This would lead to two options depending on results- A) Pivot point gives satisfactory results. Sweet. Leaving the visor attached, I would then draw th...

I have been thinking about 2x4 shoulders covered in styrofoam thats been shaped to look like shoulders, with canvas glued to the surface to protect the styrofoam. I havent tried it, so it might work, might not.

Re: Ever use software to superimpose originals over reproduc
I use Blender for 3d modeling when I have problems visualizing a 2d pattern. I just "unwrap" the mesh and bam, I get the basis of a pattern that I then tweak. Also I can "slice" the image to print side and front profile. I also use gimp to scale images to life size for the size I need it to be at, e...

I was getting two different standards mixed up as far as I am aware. The one I was searching for had a collar made ofsmall id rings, making it a very dense e4-1 pattern. This is what we did when we built our sound booth for recording... Get a shit ton of 2x4's (you can do the math to figure out how much you need), cut them to length for the height of the wall. Stack two together, wide face to wide face, screw or nail them together. Stack a third one on, etc until yo...

Being able to see the shape in your mind is key. Trust your eyes... If something seems "off" to you, keep tweaking it until its "right."
