There's a lot of mention of the sand (maybe white vinegar, to taste, the mild acid chasing some of the rust) and roll the bucket method, but I don't think I've heard of anybody actually trying it nor what results they got. I rigged up my wife's treadmill and rolled a bucket of sand for about 2 hour...

Sounds like its fitting as it should; it won't make the weight of your harness disappear, you will feel the weight, just not on a localized area.

If, by blades, you mean swords or daggers- definitely not. If there are actual blades in the mixer housing, that may or may not be a bad thing. Maybe he can talk to Hjalmr...I've never tried out his wares but a lot of AA'ers swear by his work. That would be good enough for me if I were looking for a helm. I don't know his website, but you can PM him on here, he's a regular.

I think DBK used felt or velvet on some of his earlier creations, specifically the sword-less scabbards, the King's version I think, iirc.
