Re: FS: Spring steel 12" bucklers

I have one of these-I think its 14"? It is used for rapier and heavy combat and has laughed at the hits it has taken. If I had the dosh I'd snag another of these.

A public apology

I owe David Edwinson a huge apology. I had a helmet for sale and failed to tell him I had listed it locally as well. I gave him all the needed measurements and in the interim a local gentle put money in my hand. I then recieved a paypal payment from David which I promptly refunded. I feel terrible a...

Re: Light splinted arms

Bump. I've been asked how big these can go and I think the main factor would be the elbow cops as the straps have quite a bit of adjustment.

Re: New fighter want leather armor

I agree with Insane Irish. I don't want to see anyone injured or hit so hard they quit. If the fighter in question gets tagged with a full power hit where there isn't any armor it may make her rethink her armor.

Re: Light splinted arms

I sweat buckets and the leak down turned the top of my fencing jacket pink over the course of a month or so. When I decided to sell them I was going to sew in some thin canvas backing but that would be easy enough for the buyer to do if its a concern.

When drilling even thin stainless go slow. High speed will burn bits out quick. Cutting lubricant will help as well.

Thanks, Jackie! Ernst, the chain did lose a link due to getting smashed against the grill during its first outing. Replacing links will just be something my friend has to contend with. I may experiment with running the aventail under the grill with another helmet to get around this problem.

Spasibo Kotya! My photography doesn't do the bluing justice. I got a deal on the aventail so it was a surprise. I will get more pics ASAP. The final assembly was with brass domed rivets which really pop against the bluing.

Light splinted arms

These were to be part of my traveling kit. I've decided to go with something else so these are for sale. The stainless elbows are 16 gauge from Stonekeep size "C". The stainless splints are 20 gauge(I think) re purpoused from coffee machines. They all have a slight dish to them and are fairly strong...

Cervelliere

Some photos of a simple helmet I assembled for a local Knight. I only have these mock up shots currently. I will post some of the finished helmet as soon as possible. The top is 14 gauge mild by Jackie at Shamrock Armoury. I chemically blued it using a gun bluing kit from Birchwood Casey. The neck/c...

I just wanted to say that I sent Jestyr an email inquiry about pricing. I'm sure he's been inundated with emails since his initial post and he took the time to check back with me. This kind of consideration means he will have my business when I have the coin to spend.
