My Aesir helmet with aventail weighs about 13 pounds if memory serves. I use it for SCA combat and it has been the helmet I've worn most. My first helmet was a tank but didn't fit properly. I believe my current helmets mass has come in quite handy on several occasions. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you! To be honest I'm quite surprised it hasn't sold yet. It will be the last one I make at this price point for a while, at least in stainless. I plan on making larger helmets when I get my beverly shear up and running!

44 and having a blast. I authorized at 40 and plan to fight well past 50. I can already tell that I have lost a step since my late 20s, early 30s but I feel good.

Thanks. I got a lot of input lately regarding pricing. I'm a bit surprised this hasn't sold but I'm sure someone will see it and have to have it. I'm going to concentrate on entry level helmets since that seems to be whats in demand.

Thanks, Murnig. I think it's due in part to the size. I do plan on making larger mild steel helmets at a similar price point in the future.

I have both front panels cleco'd in place and cardboard templates made for the cheeks. I found a pair of small brass or brass plated hinges that will work for the look. Once it's all mocked up I will post pics tonight or tomorrow.

Three times that for an order in limbo!? That sucks. 400 should get you a decent mild steel hat, I imagine. What size is your melon? Are you looking for an occular style helmet?

Thanks! The idea was to make something that looked smart enough to take the field and when the owner got enough scratch together they could take it to the next level with some chainmail.
