Thanks for the kind words and pointers! It's been fun so far. I may adapt this pattern with a more narrow brow band for regular spangens. I like the wooden chisel idea!

In profile and from the front mine is more rounded and fitted to my skull than the original. I made cardboard templates of the brow band and center ridge band which stretched quite a bit after forming and planishing. So far it's been a good learning experience and I thank you for your input!

I'd use 3/16ths shaft diameter for the spangen top. You can use 1/8 but you'd need roughly twice as many. Steel or brass rivets would work. 3/16ths for articulated joints for durability.
