Just a thought on making one of these as an every day use SCA shield: find a hi res photo of the shield desired and have a sign maker print out a vinyl overlay to affix to an aluminum blank. My guess is since the occular looks like it comes down straight the added size of the helmet gives clearance for his nose.

I've had clecos blow out but usually after some ill advised pounding. I try to get pieces fit fairly close before drilling holes.

I've modified a couple such for SCA rapier but would be hesitant to use them for C&T since most tend to be 18 gauge. Make sure they are of a sufficient thickness before you buy. My 2 cents.
