We re-enactors are trying to persuade English Heritage that 2006 is a far better date than 2005, because of the "round numbers", but they have made noises about making it 2005 for reasons of "regularity" or something. Hmmm, not my period. I'm not sure if velvet as we know it had been developed by then.
