While we are pulling out the pulpit... I can't believe those of you who are saying that you want a full force cup shot for it to be good. You are crazy. CRAZY! I love my Junk too much for that man.... You tag that puppy, and 'watering down the sport' or not, i'm taking it. And i'm training my peopl...

I don't know how this falls on the ultimate cup shot scale but... NSTIW- when a dude got cracked in the jimmy and falls over screeming. Hold is called adn folks gather round. Help arives and his pants come down to reveal his cup had cracked and pinched a bit of manly parts in the cracked plastic th...

OK Ultimate cup shot story. One of the guys from the group I was in was fighting at one of the fort battles at Gulf Wars. He was S&S on his knees in the breach. He trusted upward and hit a fighter right in the cup. He started saying he was sorry for hitting the cup so hard when the guy replied, "You...

There is intimidation out there. When I was a young fighter it was Duke Olaf Askoldsson. Not that I was afraid to fight him, but felt I could not beat him so I was intimidated by his prowess. These days I have respect for fighters but not imtimidated by any. However, I have seen Duke Gareth, Duke Ai...

I agree with much of Kilkenny. Matter of fact these days I fight mostly spear in wars due to my Knees. I can't press or accept charges the way I once could I honestly think it takes less effort to be an effective spear fighter than being an effective shield man in a melee. Notice I said effective an...

All hail the Revival boots with the Vibram sole. They are great! I have been fighting in them for 3-4 months and they work wonderful. I was worried about ankle support and traction but I have had no ankle problems and traction is only even a question if the grass is wet. But if I move on my toes it...

This is my thought when a few off us talked about it before. 1) As Brennus said, don’t expect miracles 2) Get everyone on the same page and same idea of what they want out of the company. 3) Don't start one with all new fighters or fairly new guys. People grow in the SCA and their goals and d...

Hooks for leg wrappings
A few years back there was a thread on Norse/Viking leg wrappings and the hooks used to hold them. Since I have lost a lot of my saved info since then can someone give me there name and and links to pictures or merchants.
Thanks in advance,

I hate to say this.... but this SEM has shown, by his actions, a history of ruling by Fiat and issuing changes at a whim with NO regard to how it effects the Fighting community at large as long as it fits his personal agenda.... I really, really hate going here and this is one of the reasons I have...

Sarnac, I think people are reading to deeply into this. That is what is really mudding the waters. Now let me get this right. The SEM posted proposed changes out to the standards committee and the KEMs asking their opinion. Basically saying, "Hey, here are some changes I am looking at for the next r...

Don't get me wrong, to me the SCA is still the most fun you can have with your clothes on, but rulings from on high lately have not impressed me overly much, because of the lack of uniform interpretation. But then people would call the BOD, SEM, or others dictators trying to ruin the SCA for everyo...

Here is the terrible answer....EVERYONE...... Really, I adapt and take from others what see and what works for me. I have never had the chance to really study the masters and practice with others (though I wish one day to). SO everything I use, teach, and have learned has come from personal fighting...

Seeing that you are back in Nottinghill Coill, part of me feels that I should be moving back, too. Arkie even posts from time to time, but do...

Sir Vebrand, Just to make sure, do you have all of the information you need regarding the Cyddlain Downs practice, our canton and baronial yahoo groups, etc? Anything to help make the transition easier. That's one hell of a move you're making. It will be nice to have another fighter at practice too...
