I masking taped a horn pattern on the helm.
I will peal it off and mark on 18ga. distressed (rusty and pitted) metal.
Beverly cut and start 3D shaping.
Hammer to fit skull then weld and blend with sander disk.

Re: trouble with dome head rivets,
My tool was used for articulation spacing on sabatons. However a second tool does hold down the washer inside. Sometimes I smack the rivet first with the flat hammer. That mushrooms it so the washer is held in place. Then I finish off with the ball pein hammer to dome the rivet inside. I like to pla...

A touch of black and a green scrubby pad with oil will antique it somewhat. Check out sculpt nouveau on YouTube for in...

I will do the band and eyebrows in brass, add a leather suspension, then see where it goes from there. The riveted drape is black oiled. I have patina that will turn brass an aged green. Also patina for russet and black steel, not to mention the weed burner. Best I could tell from your post Mat... i...

Huzzah!... Jolly well done.
I really like the flat ring riveted maile.
The patina is a two thumbs up.
Sewing the leather trim + 5
Over all... I will give this helm a 9.5 on a scale of one to ten.
Why.... Because their is no perfect ten.

Brain the skull cap. That is, make a brain maze motif across the helmet with fluting, etching, brass overlay/inlay or something along those lines. Now that is cool. Sort of like Mars Attacks. Or a broken out piece of helm with brain pattern squiggles coming out? I really do enjoy the hive mind. Hal...

Re: Fantasy helm help wanted.
I like the idea of vampire teeth.
The gold tooth is a good touch, maybe a fake diamond?
I was thinking brass eyebrows and a center crest.
Perhaps some horns?
The cheek pieces would work, I could put them on a leather hinge.
Thanks guys.
