Thanks for the pics page site link #12.
Very nice armour and some inspirational help.

My apprentice has been pounding on this 16ga. piece of steel trying to make a muscled curass for ever.

Is the little one due soon?

Happy metal pounding.

This link has cool skimpy armour. I could not isolate the pic I wanted so you will get the full page. The one I wanted to show is the one that blinks and shows different positions. To do that with a helm would be cool. The link is copywriters so I could not copy and paste. So without any further war...

That is a very well done reproduction. Cheers.

The kit idea is too cool.

A CNC plasma torch could cut one out in 10 min. or less.

Thanks for sharing your progress. I like pics.

I think the folks over on Arador would like to see that also.

Happy metal pounding.

I did not get to read the first thread until now. Very interesting to say the least. It's funny but my young apprentice "who does not read the forum" just today, asked me if he could use the new 2 x 4 foot vacuum forming machine under construction, for armour. I scratched my head and looked at him k...

Hi Wil

In the center a piece of all thread with nuts and washers might work. The square might distort the sides a bit. Maybe a octagon frame.

Hey what are you doing working on armour projects in school anyway? :-)

Cool helm it has a Viking flavor.
Why do they say forged all the time? Are all the ebay helms hot raised?

Hal.

Ps: I was under the impression that cold dishing and planishing is not forging.

Hello I have a quandary. For the past 9 months I have been developing an armouring tool. A planishing and dishing machine. One that runs on compressed air and 115 Volts. It has three speeds with a power regulator, also interchangeable anvils and a domed hammer head. The first beta unit is almost com...

Do you know anybody with a plasma torch? Maybe at the school shop. Ask around. I know at a young age $600.00 is a lot of money. Bulldog snips for $49.00 will cut 16ga OK.

Happy armouring.

My Mom has a meteorite that Dad sawed in half. about the size of a fist. It took a very long time on the diamond rock saw.

It is solid black inside and a magnet will not stick to it. So it is not iron is it?

It must be quite a trick to squeeze meteorite into a sword blade. No?

Hi Alcy

I would guess Rc. 58 to 62 on the hardness.

Just keep it cool when working on it. Do not let it turn blue when grinding on it.

Keep diping it in a bucket of water and you will be good to go.

Grinding and sanding should be all it would need.

Have fun and wear your safety glasses.

Polarbearforge my hero. That is just too cool! You certainly don't let the grass grow under your feet.

Does the ring coil feed on a rod under the cutter? Also the cutter looks like a slitting saw used in the machine shop.

Bravo jolly well done.
