Fenrisulv: The dishing dies have been machined from 4140 tool steel. I have not mounted them yet. I will let you know next weekend whether it will dish very good or not.

But it sure planishes nice.

A tin/lead alloy is a good anvil for domed rivets.
No scratch up the helm metal.

Progress pic on the planishing machine. Test today good. A little more shaping and polishing on the hammer is needed.

I dont think I will use the carrage bolts. 3/16" domed rivets should be ok. Now it is temp. held together with inside fender washaers.Buhahahahahahah...........

Thanks guys, it will have the 2 piece bands to do the sandwich trick like you told me about. No welding. I would like to use 1/4" shank carrage bolts. Polish up and blue the heads. I like the big looking rivets. Hey Taltosh your dishing form made thoes panels in the above pic. (Oxy.cylinder) bottom....

I am a boot and lace up shoe sort of guy..
I do not wear slippers. Rocks and sticks are a hazzard. Not to mention all the mud around the keg.

I do not think it was the artisans thread and needle work. They can make a curve as shown in the body armour and shields.
IMO it shows a very pointed helme.

I would like to see the sails. Do you have a link?

Stainless steel. Very hard to shape because it springs back at you.
