Your welcome.

All my info on armour making was gleaned from the web. I learned all I know about this from the forums.

Now you must pass this information on to all the newbies that ask for it.

I think this is how it is to work.

Yours truly,

Hal

That is pretty durn funny to me.

But a testament to the insulating qualities of the materials. Yes?

Guillaume2: Hello my little friend of the north. Bon Swaa. The mechanical hammer is lifted by the rotating cam. See the little crank handle on the back right corner? Check out the forge. It is white fire bricks and thermal cloth. I think it is gas fired. No smoke.

And is that a locomotive they are building in the back ground? Steam boiler?

No it did not come from Sears. Some where in Fl. I think. Also one in UK Excaliber (sp).
I have been wanting to carve a spangen panel in the stump with it. It will buck back on you and can be considered a meat eater.

I think I will wear my new malie shirt next time I use it.

Be safe,

Hal.

So you like that nasel Brodir? It looks to be bronze. Imagine just the nose piece riveted to the steel helm. Maybe some eye brows also. Have you seen Egfroths helm with the tooled bronze nose? I think it is documentable. Would you like something like that on your new helm? The USPO has not brought m...

Ps: If you overdish your panels. What I do is to pound them over a 8" weld cap with a rawhide mallet. That will undish them so they fit very good inside the bands.

The metal thickness is 16ga. .062 inches 1.57mm. The steel dishing bowl is 6" dia. steel by 3" tall. It has a radius of 3.5" It also has a 1/4" blended lip around the outside. This is the helm dimensions in the how to. Happy metal pounding ...

Gocin: What would make it more clear. Better for the newbie to follow. You did very well with your spangenhelm. A 4" brick chisel will crease the nasel very nice. If you ues a hard wood dowell and pound down from the outside over your mushroom the bands will fit tight to each other and the panels. T...

I have to move the riding mower outside to access my little space.

What Santa left for me is my armouring stamp. I like it.
