Very nice I like it, but than again I am partial to spangens. The nose will take some getting used to. Did you use a dishing stump and mushroom? It is very smooth.
Welcome to the madness.

The junk pile LOL How does it grow so big. I save metal and scrounge metal. My 55 gal. drum is over flowing. I see a snake slithering away when I am digging through it. Wasps do not forget the wasp and dirt daubers nests. The spiders Oh 10-4 on the spiders. I think I have seen a new species. My shop...

Lol the cross bow story is great. I tested some lawn mower blades for a cross bow they appeared like they would work. The string was to be stainless steel cable. The Gods of the shop kept telling me to stop so I did. It sets in a pile of pieces now. Be safe think smart live to play another day. Hal.

Thoes sound like cool tools. But I am with POD. Screws "flat head" on the inside will let you still hammer over the mushroom. All ya gotta do is stay off of the nuts and the threads sticking up. I know it is a hassel to install and uninstall all the screws. Question? Will the cleco's let you hammer ...

Oh my God! You want to make a sword out of a curved automotive leaf spring? My best advice would be not to do it. I think you are setting your self up for a heart ache. http://www.theramp.net/sssco/ Go their and check out the virgin spring steel. [img]http://www.cox-internet.com/halberds/springstl.j...

For what it is worth. I tried some maille with the 14 ga. galv. roll of fence wire. The coils were made on the metal lathe with a 3/8" rod 3 feet long. (foot switch recommended) The cutting was done with a 18" pair of red handled bolt cutters clalmped in the vice. Sort of a love affair with you and ...

Yes that does help. I guess I was looking for justification for power tools. I have a lot of ideas of helms I want to build but I do not have the strength or stamina to hammer that long. Historical is a good and noble cause but I would like some power assistance to be able to create my ideas. Am I c...

Polishing: 1. File. Flat and round files, shape smooth. 2. Rough paper strip sand. 3. Shoe shine style, strip emery cloth. 4. Start rough then go finer. 5. All sorts of buffs and compounds. 6. If no motor, use finer and finer emery. 7. Get it wet at the last fine sanding, use auto wet or dry emery c...
