Very nice I like it, but than again I am partial to spangens. The nose will take some getting used to. Did you use a dishing stump and mushroom? It is very smooth.

Welcome to the madness.

Lol the cross bow story is great. I tested some lawn mower blades for a cross bow they appeared like they would work. The string was to be stainless steel cable. The Gods of the shop kept telling me to stop so I did. It sets in a pile of pieces now. Be safe think smart live to play another day. Hal.

A very romantic helmet. My complements on your new helm. The pic with the visor up was the best.

Pricing is excellent. I got 20 feet of 1/4" by 2" cut up in to 6 foot lengths packed and shipped all the way to Texas for less than $50.00.

BTW it is mill heat treated and tempered. Very springy.

Happy grinding,

Please do not let my lack of experience stand in the way of my ignorance. How does one make a spangen panel on a flat anvil? I have a piece of rail road rail and a 6"x8"x1" 4140 ground plate that is my anvils.

Now that's a Great Helm. 1/8 plate you say? And welded. All one could use now is blue foam and duct tape.
The hammer marks:
To get that nice blended shape and finish.
Planish your helm over a mushroom stake. Perferably before you assembile it.
Looking good;
