Air planshers. I have seen a few pics of shop made framed up air hammers over a ball stake. It seems like a good idea. The really deep throat type must be for breast plates. Meselfs has been wokling on such a machine. Planishing hurts my wrist. I have to wear a brace, and it takes a very long time. ...

This is grinding stage #7. Is one to grind the fuller or leave a sharp crest? So far it weighs about 3.5 pounds. To get the weight down I will take more material off the brass crossguard and blade. Quite a bit of grinding to go. I thought ...

Fill bladder with cold water and crushed ice. Circulate cold water thru tubes in helm. Radiate heat at head. Tube to drai...

He had black armour with gold looking edges.
Brass or gold rivets too.

Jamesn: I just learned about harmonic ballance and nodes of vibration. If you tie a rope to a tree and shake the other end while pulling it tight, Waves will appear in the rope. This is called standing waves. The handle should be at one of the quite points along the sword. This way your hand does no...

Welding on a sword ? and 3 other dumb questions.

1. Is it ok to wire weld the pommel on? the pomel is 1018 1/2" thick. The sword is 5160H. I can keep everything else cool. it will only get hot at the very end. 2. Also how is one supposed to test a sword? How many degrees of flex before permanent deformation or snap is allowed? 3. Should a sword be...

More, we must have more. Your skin will grow back but the steel will never heal.
