Simple crease tool for the press.
Necessity is the mother of all invention. Once upon a time I had access to power breaks and used them to crease my helm face plates. Now that I am retired, I no longer have industrial R&D shop privileges. So only thing to do was improvise and adapt. I built this simple crease tool for the 14ga. http...

Re: Helm padding query.
I like the helm padding quest. I know smurf wallmart camping pads suck, they take a set. I did a lot of testing foams for the electronics and battery boxes on uav's. All the while keeping in mind a use for the brain bucket. Motorcycle helmets use a one time styrofoam, however the nylon lined cushion...

Re: Any intrest in my "Carlos the Crusader" helm kit?
My plasma vendor suggested I assemble a kit to check the cut pattern. It is a good thing as the CAD file has been corrupted. I must redo a couple of pieces to make it right. Sorry for the delay but everything must fit properly. Here are some sketches of how it goes together. CarlosHowTo2.JPG CarlosH...

I do not accept any payment until your item is finished and ready to ship.
I have been a member of the Archive long enough to see what happens to a non-delivering vendor and it's not a pretty sight.

Oh shit a snag. I creased the face plates in '08 with a box and pan break. That heavy duty industrial tool is no longer available for me, as well as those fantastic lathes and mills. Therefore... Re: Home heat blueing quandry.
Wife would not let me touch her oven, but had good luck with the weed burner. It is a little tricky keeping it even and you must stop just before the color you want. Reason why, is it soaks up the heat and gets a shade darker. Best to practice on some scrap pieces. Clean with acetone solvent and do ...

Madmartigan, One would need a means to dish and planish. A hack saw or snips to get the bands to your correct size. An electric drill or metal punch for the holes. #10 nuts and screws for pre-assembly. Vice-grip welders clamps to hold it all together. A ball peen hammer and rivet anvil to peen the r...

Jean Paul de Sens, No, I tested a kit with those breaths cut out and it was difficult to form the face plate. The cut outs caused the face plate to deform and crinkle while shaping with simple tools. I found it best to leave the face plate blank and allow the user to make his or her own breath patte...
