Re: NEWBIE QUESTIONS ANSWERED - Add your Input !!!
I have this to add to the fine post above. http://home.armourarchive.org/members/halberds/sneckdetail.jpg The spring is banding material and the pins are 1/4" mild steel rods. The hook is hammered 1/4 rod. Turn down a short length of your 1/4" rod to 3/16" and peen to the components. The copper disk...

How do you prepair bone handles?
I wanted to make a set of bone handle feast eating utensils. I BBQ'ed some nice beef short ribs and the bones look like suitable handles. I let my dog clean them real good but how does one make them sanitary? How dry does the marrow have to be? Can you use a microwave? Must they be boiled? Are they ...

I like using the clamps, screws and nuts to iron it out also. Sometimes I G-clamp, weld inside and the rivets are just for looks. this had fake rivets, rendered with a short blasts of the MIG welder. Here is an old spangen how to: http://www.arador.com/armour/how-to-make-a-spangenhelm/ Show u...

I really appreciate Eric Dubes armouring movies, and he also has a great taste in music. My movies are of poor quality, composition and delivery. Nevertheless, they are fun to do and hopefully somewhat instructional. :D This is my latest batch of tools: http://home.armourarchive.org/members/halberds...

What would you be interested in seeing?
I could show some pics and quotes here.

Re: Aaron, Et al. reply from consrtuction page.
That is not how I flute. I rarely start with an inside crease. It is helpful sometimes, just use a cold chisel that has been blunted. I place my metal over the fluting stake and use a raising hammer on each side. That pushes the metal down on each side, resulting in a raised up flute. I come back wi...

Came out very robust me thinks. Jolly well done. The choice of seasoned metal gives it a very dark ages look. I would suggest you experiment on some scrap metal using a sharper fluting stake. Thanks for the movies it is really coming along. Kudos to your innovation of the tool pipe. I hold my hammer like that when pining rivets on the inside. A snap action for tight spaces. One can also use any hammer they have available to blend the fit.
