Border Raids

Great time! I want to thank all the folks from Meridies who came up and helped us have a great time! Fighting was hard but everyone seemed to be having a great time - smiles all around! Some great kits out there - and some awsome acts of valor and prowess! And anytime I get to fight next to Vitus is...

Thanks everyone... Yeah, my wife says she hasn't seen me so giddy after an event in years. Both HRM and HRH Midrealm gave him tokens that day - a copper arm ring and a viking coin - Torrc was stunned. He woke up the next morning and asked "We do this again in two weeks, right?" I gave him ...

Yesterday, at North Oaken War Manuevers, my son (known in the SCA as Torcc Mc Dilan) authorized in armored combat and joined my warband on the field. During a brigde battle, an opponent charge me with a polearm while I was fighting spear - got inside my point, had me dead to rights. Until Torcc step...

The problem I see a lot of people have with thrown weapons is gauntlets - They can really mess people up. With hockey gloves, it is pretty much impossible, from what I've seen.

I have finger gauntlets, MUCH easier to throw short spears in combat.

Hilt / Pommel shape - 5 c. Ireland/Britian

I can find info on blade length / style, but not the hilts/pommels. Any hints info anyone would like to share?

I'm guessing heavy Roman influance, but I could be wrong...

Could be worse.... I know someone who had their cup crack, the crack "opened up" as it compressed, then snapped back "closed" with a bit of skin caught.... we'll just say - a tip of skin... NOBODY was willing to check the injury - but he said the bruise was "interesting"...

Never said that you should give it up. But you are using the term "Companion" in the name. In the SCA, certain terms will evoke certain reponses from people (and if you say "I don't care what people think", why even post about it in the first place?). House / Order / Companion / ...
