What size are you? I might have an HE linen tunic and wool chausses (never worn) that I can trade. I'll have to dig through my cedar trunk this weekend and see what I have. I also have a spiffy cotehardie I could trade you (I'm trying to thin down my garb closet. 12 pairs of chausses and 5 cotehard...

Re: 14th Century grab bag of armour, Spring, Mild, Aluninum,
I actually considered buying it and putting it on a bascinet. There are a few manuscript illustrations of that, so I probably could have done it.archibald wrote:Yes, that would work and was used as such on my new hat. Though I should re label as a drape instead of aventail, I will edit after posting this to you.

Re: What medal guage for Italian 15th c. curass?
I am thinking of putting together a 15th c. Italian curass out of mild, cold rolled steel. Would people recommend 14 guage in front, including folds, and 16 guage in back including folds and tassets? Or would 16 guage front with folds and 18 guage back with folds and tassets be fine? What are you u...

Re: Looking for a Crusader Flat"ish" top style helmet
There was a thread with four listed on it a few months back. You might look through the archive and find who made them. don't know what your budget is, accdntprone is almost certainly the best value for the price, and probably the most inexpensive as well.

He'll probably be so brain dead from making so many spangens that he'll make a crusader/spangen hybrid by accident.

I'd disagree with that. If there isn't evidence for it in 1603, but there is evidence in 1703, then can you really say that nothing changed? And if you have evidence from 1603 and from 1703, use the 1603 one.

Sounds very well padded. I have about a 24" head though. Would be worried the tight fit would get me concussed.Jolly Knight wrote:[

More likeky to sell I'd be willing to bet it would sell if you could confirm that it is in fact 14 gauge, not 16. No one is willing to wear 16 for SCA and that is the biggest chunk of the market here.
