Ah, no then. Those I took were sans gambeson. So I don't think these will fit me either. Thanks though.

For the helm, I'd go Accndtprone or Otto. Both are good for early period.

Re: Armour for Sale - Used and New Prototypes at a Discount
I can't fit in these arms with a Forge of Svan gambeson, I have to use a thinner SCA weight gambeson with them. Hmmm. Honestly, I don't know how much the 20 gauge spring steel protects (no experience with wearing spring) for ACL or for SCA. I'd eventually like to move into ACL/BotN, so having a kit...

It's a padded gambeson from Forge of Svan. Not super poofy, but padded. I can remove the arms though, and use something thinner, if need be.

To clarify, the sizing on the arms, is that the size of the actual armor, or the size of your arms (without a gambeson) ? If the latter, I'm definitely interested.
My forearms are
Forearm is 12.5" (at the widest point)
Wrist is 7 1/4"
Elbow to wrist is 11"

I really like Forge of Svan for a gamebson. They also make padded hose and I've talked to them about making a pourpoint. They said they'd be willing to. I know they're out of Ukraine, but shipping was pretty good, the prices were great and the quality was good. For my simple gambeson, it ended up be...

I'm sorry, I don't know how I missed that in the description. My mistake. As for helms, while I did like the blackened one, I'm leaning more towards a klappvisor or a kettle. Thank you for answering though.

Craig, I like the look of that blackened helm. If I bought one, I'd use it for ACL. I have a 24" head, do you think I'd be able to pad it heavily enough for ACL fighting?

I would think with the size of the plates and the overlap they have, that they'd be fairly resistant to bending, especially when laced together tightly.

What about mail drapes over bargrills, specifically over faces. Does it take 3 strikes, or only one? As for cross guards, do you want to specify the type, or just leave it general? 14th century swords look very different from norse ones. I would also be against thrust only spears, I think it would b...
