I agree Dietrech. I either prefer to close up and foul with my buckler, so that shots aren't coming in, or attack then fade. Related question. All you buckler fighters, for avoiding shots thrown at you, what's the ratio of shots you dodge to shots you block? Roughly, since it's hard to take data in the middle of a fight.

It stops the enemy from letting his blade slide down the shaft of your weapon and landing on your arm, body, or head. Also, it allows for some weapon/shield manipualtion you'd not be capable of otherwise. I see people who don't use them and I always wonder why they don't.

Would have gone better if I'd remembered to take measurements yesterday. OTOH shop was fun. Started dishing a shield boss, ended up raising a cross into a piece of steel. Guess it'll make a nice gift. I'll get measurements tonight or tomorrow.
