Ha, nice try. But I'm not a trimerian. So try this on for size
Caius, well he was an Ansteorran
He got off the boat and went whoring
He said with a sigh
If I could get her to cry
This would be a hell of a lot less boring

Ha, good luck.
And since you did in fact write a limerick archie, helm is free from my interference. Thanks for a great thread, all of y'all.

Andrew, at this time, I'd like to formally apologize for completely disrupting your auction. It really is a nice piece of metal work, I hope you get a very good price for it. Keep up the good work.

There once was a hairy trimarian
Who loved to sodomize carrion
he said with a grin
wiping gore from his chin
If they'd last longer, I'd marry em.

Hey Archie, make you a deal. Compose a dirty limerick referencing the things Trimerians do and I'll pass up the chance to screw with you.archibald wrote:Great, now I'm on the verge of bidding against myself.

Archie, you have no idea how tempted I am to bid $210 on this. Just because I know it will drive you nuts.

It's a pretty good tactic. See, even if I wanted the helm, I'd be afraid that Archie would smother me with a pillow while I slept if I bid on it.archibald wrote:A smidgeon.

I'll take a swing at him if I see him, but considering my experience level, don't expect much. Edit: Having though about it, and thus realizing Max and I should both be on the French side (assuming he was talking about this during the deed), Consider my earlier statement void. And yes, I'm quite stu...

I really don't want to. If I wanted to be torn apart by more experienced Scadians in front of everyone, I'd go compete in something like the challenge of arms-.......Ok, so maybe I like getting beaten up. But this is different.tim_Belcher wrote:post it

Cool. Bear in mind, I'm hardly an expert, so it's a good advice to read things posted by others. In fact, I'm no expert at all. But I'll take a swing at it, or at least bounce you to someone better.

Re: Armored Battle Skirt
If I can share some experience from my rudimentary armor making attempts back in my larp days, you don't want armored sections hanging freely around your knees and thighs. It will really kill your mobility. It tends to sway back and forth and stop you from changing directions as well. In addition, t...

I like that Italian bascinet as well. While we're at it, how much do you generally charge for cased greaves, with no brasswork? and do you work in anything besides mild/low carbon steel?

Re: Covering the nasty "P Word"?
Dap is excellent, in my experience, for holding cloth to things. I know for foam stuff, don't try to glue it when the weather is humid. You lose a lot of the strength. And I should see you at BAM. And probably coastal baronials as well. That'll be up north of Beaumont, at the site where BAM usually ...

Pretty. I'm not sure how well I'd be able to use the thumb though. My current thumb is a single piece of steel, but is held on with single rivet, allowing it to articulate well. Not sure if I'd be able to get a good grip. Don't mean to discourage, I like the work.

Nah, open face, not SCA legal in the least. Don't think you could convert it either. Not without spending more than getting an SCA helm made would cost. Pretty though.

Re: Show us your best lookng SCA weapons
I finally have an SCA weapon I'm proud enough of to post here. The seax is rattan with a died hemp wrapped handle and a copper pomel. I made the scabbard and belt and the buckles came from viking leather craft. I personally can attest that it is very pretty, having had it pulled on my a few weekend...
