Let me try to hash out my recent paycheck difficulties at work and get back to you. If anyone else wants it between then and now, go ahead.

Hmmm. I'd been considering making a CoP. Were I to buy the plates, how much would you want for the leather?

Re: ACL/BotN Armour and Realigning Expectations with Realit

I'd put ACL at about 7,000 a year, with no out of country tourneys. Might have overshot it, but I'm feeling like I probably didn't (I buy way too much crap). I'll have to wait till I go back and get my bachelors degree.

Dont suppose you have a patter for the clothe or leather shell for this, do you? And the original patterns as well? You're about my size.

Do you only need size at the waist (in this case meaning where I wear my belts and pants, not higher, which would be more period) or do you need other measurements? I'm considering ordering one.

Before I'm ravaged by the commentary, this is highly subjective, depends on how skilled you are and how much satisfaction you get from working on your own gear. If you're doing this a project for your own enjoyment, don't let me stop you. If you want to get on the field, then maybe reconsider. Caiu...

I've never shaped finger lames, but given that they have specialized tools for it, I'd guess its a bitch and a half. If you can get it all done locally, you are welcome to, it's just that often with things like this, you use more time, effort, and money and end with a worse end result than you would...

It could be. But you'll want more than leather, unless its super padded, on the back of your hand I think. If you had a pair of hourglass demi's, you could. We're you planning on buying the finger lames already shaped? Because that will certainly put the price up there. And if you buy them unshaped,...

Stupid question, but seeing as well over 99% of the weapons I've seen at events (both SCA and otherwise) have been swords, what do they do for maces/war hammers, ie, weapons without a scabbard? Tie them to the belt? Just curious.
