OT-WTB Full Length Duster (jacket): Mens XL
Looking to to buy a full length duster for a costume I'm putting together (NCR Ranger for any fallout fans) ebay had new ones but it seems a shame to beat up a good jacket for a costume. I thought someone here might have an old one in the closet. Looking for men's XL, possibly L or XXL, in brown dar...

If I had a set of spring steel finger gauntlets and only wanted to fight in SCA combat, I'd probably chance it, especially if they went a little deeper than period so that they could ground out on a very hard hit. Grain of salt though, as I've never owned finger gaunts.

Re: What 14th Century style gauntlets would you fight in?
You could do like the 14th century BOTN boys do for mittens, that is they get Grettir ones, which are mittens but are shaped to look like finger gaunts. 4130, IIRC, and supposed to be the best gauntlets you can get. I did a quick internet search, and came up empty. How could I find an image or link...

If I had all my new armour together, I'd be sore tempted When snubbing your nose at the SCA, you don't need to follow the Armour requirements. Well, the lack of a helm precludes me from wanting to have my head bashed. :) Nah, don't be silly. It's just good for fencing. A pair of gym shorts, an unde...

I have lots, yes. I'll likely be bringing some to BAM if I still have some after WoA. What all do you have? I'd be interested in 1 3/4 inch and thicker. Re: Lightweight leg harness for HEMA
No, ABS is crappy and tends to shatter (from secondhand accounts, I've never used it, only used kydex). But that stuff is fairly thick and might last. Personally, I'd try to find some 2.5-3mm thick aluminum bar stock, try to get pieces about 2-3cm wide, then cut it off into strips of the appropriate...

You really ought to specifiy what exactly you mean by plate? 14th century? Doesn't seem to be, unless you want a super tight fit. Full gothic or maximillian plate? Maybe just a bit.

Gaston makes 410 stainless spring steel splints for van braces and will be making cuisse and greave ones as well IIRC. rrelatively inexpensive and very protective. Might be a good place to start.

Hmmm. Your shop monkey keeps making helms sized for his head. If he starts his own armory line, he could call it KiwiHead armory.
