Since the brass has some weight to it, I went with a .048 thicness and cut out the bottom strip in 2 halves, both center side strips and the arch parts, the arches are 3/4" wide, the other parts 1 1/4", the original and photos suggest the 1 1/4" brass to be overlayed with 1" bronze with a knotwork m...

One of the more cooler design aspects are the arched brass strips on either side of the helm, I figure this is actually suggesting that the sides were multi-parted due to the theoretical scarcity of large metal pieces in Rohan. Using a compass on the minuature, I determined that the arch's center is...

I'm working up the next part right now. The making of a fantasy helm in pictures (LotR-Rohirrim)

I have been working on this helm for a while now but almost daily for the last 3 weeks, I have wanted this helm for quite some time. Having this to do has immensely helped me spend more time in the shop and increased my productivity, by being a "take a break" project that keeps me up there working o...

I've just taken a comission for a similar helm here from another archiver, I could fit yours in by making both at the same time. I'll get you some pics of an uncompleted one from about a year ago to give you an idea of the look. Meanwhile, if you are interested, go ahead and contact me. Eric C. Jose...

Just rub it on, let ic loud dry, buff off the extra, it is good for metal and wood, and I do believe it states on the can that it is good for leather, it works well on the leather roof of my Cadillac. I know that it is highly protective of armour in rain.
