I stopped buying miniatures when Ral Partha went all corporate and stuff.
But I wouldn't part with my figures for anything.
I agree, the prices asked for on ebay are ruinous.

Guys, A buddy of mine is looking at doing a gaming miniature project. He is planning on doing a line of "Female Space Marines" for use with Warhammer 40K, which is apparently being made into a feature film. Please note that it is NOT sponsored, endorsed, or involved in any way with Games W...

Freiman, I'm not sure what you're suggesting. If you mean that potential fighters should be given a realistic expectation of the pain levels in fighting, I agree with you. If you mean that potential fighters who lack the ability to become dukes or knights should not try fighting at all, are not wor...

yeah they are badass. Mine is kind of a big deal. It has many leather bound books. It's library smells of rich mahogany. My shield doesn't always drink beer, but when it does, it drinks dos equis. Does it come back to you after you throw it, or do you have to practice to get the angles right? The s...

I got one as a gift a while back, and gave it to a newbie. I'm stupid about giving things to newbies. It was a great shield, and nigh indestructible, but the handle was an issue for me. It just didn't feel right. I am not sure if the handle was a windrose thing, or fitted by my buddy. Very light and...

Re: Tough or patient?
But you have to admit, virtually 100% of the dukes and knights in the SCA have been trained with the "This is the deep end, hope you can swim" method. And you can't argue with success. You underestimate me! Those dukes & knights (not me, by the way) who got deep end training would, I ...

Two artistic projects with which I am proud to be associated
Guys, I have lately been doing some really cool things with some cool people. First, I did the music for a TV pilot. It's not a show yet, the pitch is coming up this month sometime. It's a Reality show called "Starving Artist". I did the music. m The second one is much more high brow, and ...

I have four currently in my possession, but only use one. One is retired (it was made for me by a friend) and the other two are loaners. I am really sorry to sound pedantic but in my experience for many fighting either speaks to them or it doesn't. If it doesn't, any excuse will do, if it does, no excuse will be accepted. FF, Please forgive me. It's a really beautiful, well thought out piece. This could actually be improved. Please post pics and specifics. Musicians like to actually play an instrument before they buy it. Doing it long distance is tough. We have all been burned, and we get a bit, well, distrustful. The pricing is fine, but nobody has any cash to spare right now. It might actually be a little high, but not too much. It would sell under other conditions, but you might have to wait a few days to find a buyer. In the current economic conditions, you might want to take it off the market for a coupl...

One thing that may seem odd to 'Stateside SCA folks (and reenactors too, I guess) is how much the Euro reenactors actually respect the SCA. Guys, I was contacted by a young man that wants to fight.
