Ok, if we are talking wierd injuries here -I have one. While riding my 360 enduro motorcycle back when I was a teenage, the sparkplug was ejected out of the plug hole and straight into my upper thigh. It took me a few minutes to realize what had happened, but when it did it sure hurt. (^-^) --------...

Lower leg shots can be blocked in one of two ways (using a sword): 1) Put your sword upside down when you block (piont of the sword points downward). Yah, it sound crazy but it works and feels ok once your use to it. 2) Strike your opponents weapon with yours and drive it into the ground. This is ha...

Are you refering to the "Ivanhoe" helmet. It's basically a rounded steel cap that was used during the 12th century. It was usually worn under the mail, but it was sometimes worn over it. I think it has to do with four facts: 1) Machoism! Some guys just don't want to lose to a girl. 2) Some guys feel that fighting is a man's sport and that women should go find something else to do -like sew or something. 3) Some men believe that woman shouldn't fight because they will get hurt. 4) So...

Ahhh. I see what you mean -the laces are up the front (or even up the back in some cases). I have seen this kind of coif before, but I don't like them. This type of coif can be tightened to prevent the coif from expanding when bending over, but then it's a pain to get off. As for the "cap", how was ...

The cap should rest directly on the head rather snugly. If it doesn't, then you either have too many rings in the cap (causing it to bunch up rather then flattening out) or there is a flaw in the way you are weaving it. As for the neck: maille is designed to compress together when standing straight ...

It appears that some of you may be confused. I was once studying the concept of tilting ones shield at an angle to allow a blow to slide along the surface and keep on going. This gets the attacker off balance as they try to recover a shot that didn't bounce back off the shield. I have been told in t...

Effingham: The heradldry examples do show that the shape is not a modern creation. It may not document a wankel on the battle field, but it does show that the general shape was known at the time.
