were these shield true triangles or are you refering to Wankel styled shields? Just curious as I love playing around with different shield styles and would be very interested if the shield you are refering to is not a wankel

My centergrip shield is covered in heavy canvas that was then painted with a muti colored celtis knotworking -I love it and I can't wait to make my heater shield in the same style.

I use a thick fuel line hose which I apply after painting my shield with my device. I then make a cloth shield cover with my device that helps protect the paint job. When my shield cover gets all but destroyed, I can remove it and still have a device on my shield.

Same as above, but make sure the heater is in the proper position when you figure out that comfort area.
