Hjalmarheim Update (July 30)
Time for an update so my customers can stay informed -I apologize ahead of time for any delays. Due to the Memphis heat (100* +) I have been unable to work on armor everyday. I also decided to replace 2 helmets that were lost in the mail during the week I re-designed my business because I lost the p...

Re: Helmet Shipping method recomendations
Just wanted to let you know that USPS has lost 4 of my helmets in the last 2 months -2 were overseas and tracking didn't work after it left the country. I have yet to win an insurance claim against USPS.
Good luck!

HJALMAR UPDATE (July 23)
Here is an update as to where I stand at the moment: 1) David Moorhead (14g SS Roman Helmet) – Remaking helmet as I type. Sorry for the problems David. 2) Chris Benitez (14g Ss Bascinet) - Remaking helmet. 3) Edward Kreyling (14g SS Sutton Hoo Helmet) – First up after I remake the above two helmets....

Re: What should be in an armouring book for newbies?
I also think a series of Dirt cheap armor peices would be interesting. walk throughs of how to create armor as inexpensively as possible. For the guys who want to build their own stuff, but don't have welders, throatless shears, plasma cutters, power hammers, etc. I recall one member (I think this w...

Re: Corinthian helmet
I have made a corinthian helmet rather recently and starting on another one possibly this weekend. I will try to get some pictures up and get pictures of the patterns I made. Essentially I made the first one out of four pices and that is how I intend to to the second one. Made two helmet halves int...

Re: Corinthian helmet
I have made several low grade Corinthian helmets and I find them to be one of the easier helmets to make. I find it to be much easier then a Barbute. You can see my version here: m m Due to the price of stainless, I would recommend making it out of mild to see if you can do it. You can also work out...

What should be in an armouring book for newbies?
As I have decided to slow down my armor making, I have decided to start making "how to" armouring books for the items that I make and I was wondering what you think should be in such a book that isn't, or must be. I already plan to add plenty of step by step pictures, along with the step b...

Re: valuing and marketing old comics
There is a comic book price guide, but they are pretty pricey these days. The western, horror and war comics are usually not worth much so you should concentrate on any superhero comics. Condition is the major factor. Due to what you mention, I would recommend taking the pile to a comic shop and ask...
