Mordreth, I was concerned with preserving any original patina they sword may have under the rust, so I suggested to start with the mildest treatment that was sort of guaranteed not to remove even that, just the rust. Break free is awesome and I'd not hesitate to use it in a modern sword. But patina...

Guys
The SCA custom is that you acknowledge a kill by dropping, if you don't want to fall down in a melee stick to singles.
Life doesn't need to be this complicated.

Let me ask - What if, especially for limited front battles such as a bridge, the rule was that if you died and did not fall down, you HAD to retreat THROUGH YOUR OWN RANKS. Not to the side (seen a lot of guys "sweep enemy spears" that way), not forward. Straight back. The only unit and fi...

There is no need, if people have been taught properly. But since there are people that can't see the difference between calibrating with armor, and wearing a big draping sleeve that slows down a shot before it reaches the armor, and calibrating as if the sleeve wasn't affecting the blow... There wa...

I guess I dont see the difference between long sleeves, and moving out of the "sweet spot" of a wrap. Both take power off the blow, yet one is deemed OK and the other not? The former is passive, and if turning a telling blow into a light one before it lands, then is against the spirit of ...

When taped up it created a very heavy weapon which was prone to deep ...
