it's sort of hot and humid in Japan, if your armor doesn't work maybe you've strayed a bit from proper design
BTW - the "Hachiman Hole" in a dark helmet will create air movement if your padding system leaves a clear path from the shikoro to the crown of the helm

I like it as is, the one time there was a problem starting with an over armorered guy who loved hitting very hard I took care of it on the field, and we came to an understanding about the local practice.
He grasped the concept of "just because I don't doesn't mean I can't" very readily :D
