I teach my folks to have the mindset of an early medieval gentleman - this is what I do for a living, nothing personal, this is just business. I think having a level of detachment when you go on the field leads to a more effective if less rabid style. I can't for the life of me remember the writer w...

call them and order it - there are no repeat no standard sized screws that fit http://www.roperwhitney.com/

Whatever you do don't abuse a screw to the point that the lugs shear off - I can guarnaty endless hours of amusement trying to get it back out of the tool if you can't get a screwdriver to grip

Just a thought, A footsoldier would be wearing armor without a surcoat, a gentleman would be wearing armor and a surcoat, an SCA member would be wearing an elaborate heraldic surcoat without appropriate armor - for 1305 you could go for a gambeson, and reinforcing plates and have a more coherent loo...

Surcoat material is thin (cotton?) 3 belts? Undershirt loooks modern...a longer one would hide the elbowpads, arms, etc... I would put heraldry on the surcoat. Eventually pick up a gambeson HOWEVER>>> overall you look fine! The above would simply "pimp you out" more. When I wear a surcoat...

Re: What Armor Would You Wear?

You are going to fight a real battle. Not a big battle- just a small skirmish. There will be no firearms- just edged weapons and impact weapons. You are on foot, swinging a 2-handed weapon, so no shield. You have the choice of any type of armor. What pieces of armor do you take, and what material i...

I've used a guige strap on my shields (when I use one of the darn things) for quite a while - particularly on a heater it makes a head block faster, and less taxing since you push forward towards your opponent to raise the shield rather than lifting into the block.
