That's so sad Leg harness of Colaccio Beccadelli is dead sexy if you need to dress that way I'm not completely abandoning the 12th ...

IIRC, I used 4 layers of cotton batting. Quilting makes it stiffer. To be honest, I'm finding that the protection isn't eough for my legs. I ended up adding a pair of leather over the cuisses to get rid of the sting. My next set will probably use tubes stuffed with batting rope. I've heard good thi...

Well i use an Aluminum Rim under rawhide, pretty much the same principal as Mordreth suggests. last one lasted 18 months or so. I use 16 gauge cut about 3/4 of an inch across rivited in at @ 3 - 4 inch intervals under a leather rim - it works pretty well. BTW - copper roofing nails cut to length ma...

get a wooden shield and rivet on an iron rim sheesh kids these days! As for the aluminum shield - while I think it is God's punishment on you for using one riveting an eight to ten inch piece of 1/8 X 1/2 flat stock to the leading edge should reinforce the edge enough to prevent it folding over. Whenever this comes up I'm reminded of one of the early calibration tests performed in the Midrealm. The test involved taking a freshly made spangenhelm, firmly bolting it to a large stump and letting the assembled chivalry take turns whacking it with a sword. The sword was a well-preserved antique...

Yes, but you wear armor. We don't wear armor, or at least it's not required. Why does not wearing armor make one weak? I would think it should be the other way around. Moreover, by your standards SCA is way wussier than Dagorhir. Just throwing that out there; I'm not sure all the SCAdians here woul...
