Bump

Things didn't work out with the original buyer, so there are available again. I'll pay the shipping on these, to anywhere in North America. As before, email me for pics.

Looks good. As T-Bob asked, the new product I was hoping for was maille made of alternating rows rather than all riveted. Any future production plans?

This stuff isn't exactly a pile of DVD's, it's hard to replace an award won in a hard-fought tourney or a sword you've used for years, even if the insurance would cover it.

If I see anything for sale, I'll post.

Isn't the harp on a blue field the heraldy of Ireland? I thought the Welsh heraldry was a red dragon, on a green and white field.

Aluminum Birka plates

Just wondering if anyone who got in on any of the aluminum orders has any plates left over? I need about 40, more if you have them. Thanks in advance.

Roderick from Mandrake told me that he was going to be accepting orders for that nice, low-profile pair of gaunts on the 'Gallery' page soon. They look like they'd work very well.

Period or location?

Every once in a while there simply isn't enough info available for a certain aspect of your portrayal, so you are forced to make an educated guess. So, what would you put a greater value on, geographic location or time period? As a silly example, you are trying to document the practice of dying shoe...

Baldric C. 800?

Along with my fledgling 14th century impression, the main portrayal I have focused on for the last few years is a Dane from southern Jutland c. 800 AD. At this time Denmark had a lot of contact with Saxons fleeing Frankish expansion, as well as fighting the Franks themselves. I'm curious if there ar...

What is a Sergeant?

The 'What is a man-at-arms?' thread reminded me of a question I've been wanting to ask for a while now. What is the historical and SCA definition of a Sergeant? What kingdoms do and don't practice Sergeantry, and what are the regional differences? Thanks.

Historically, a man-at-arms was just a mounted soldier not of the knightly class. Hard to say within the SCA, I am/was a man-at-arms to a knight who is no longer as active. He asked me as a favour to our sensechal before I was even an authorized fighter, and never really explained it to me what the ...

WTB: 48"-50" stick of rattan

needed in a hurry, there's a small tournament on June 2nd and I'd like to put together a Dane axe to fight with. I like to shape my axe handles a bit into a sort of oval cross-section, so I would prefer 1.5" diameter. Straight rattan is an unattainable dream, but the straighter the better. Thanks gr...
