Shane Smith and Cheval both bring up what I see as the problems. The rules are set up to leave no real consequence for fighting to close as in no grappling what so ever. There are many rules that are not realistic, which caused the style of fighting most commonly seen in the SCA to happen. 1) No gra...

Actually it worked out that way because my hosen are a little high wasted. I also feel the skirt on the doublet is an inch or so too long but it is my first 15th century outfit and a learning experience. Next set will be lower.

Edric The pattern in The Medieval Taylor's Assistant worked for me. The body shape works perfect for what I wanted, I just had to mess with the neck lines a bit to look closer to historical. I don't like her puffy sleeve so I am altering it and messing with the shape to get it to look nicer. Here is...

Well push cuts are not allowed in Atlantia, I was mistaken in thinking that was a society wide ban. The historic value of rapier combat does not rest on this one item. Don't get me wrong I think things are improving but I keep seeing fencers trying to hold back more historic rules for the side sword...

This is exactly why I am refusing to use a basket hilt, I am not a 17th century Scotsman. I hate the modernized parts of the game and the stupid arguments that come from them.
