Looks pretty cool. You may want to try dishing out the cheeks, brow, and nose a bit to give a bit more definition and shape. Otherwise very nice.

Like the other helms too. Really like the way you did the occular on the aluminium helm

Sabatons *pic*

I just finished a pair of stainless sabatons. I sent the pattern out to be scanned and will post them to the patterns section asap. These are for about size 11 or 12 foot. The edges at the ankle and heel are rolled. Any questions or comments/crit...

When the guy said he wanted $200 for the whole set it was all I could do to keep myself like giggling like a school girl and shouting "I'll take them!" I have seen the stakeplate alone go for more than $200 on ebay. Once I got everything in the car and was driving off I was doing the happy dance big...

I got a call from my metal supplier yesterday. He said a buddy of his bought a bunch of tools from a company that closed including a table with a Pexto stake plate and a bunch of "anvils". He thought I mighyt be interested in them. They had looked over the stuff and figured it all was worth about $3...

I just got back from mailing the patterns out to Raibeart. He said he will scan them for me. Then I can post them on the archive. Taltosh: Fitting is similar to a globose. As far as the back plate goes. I made it about as wide across as I could without interferring with the arms backward movement. I...

Yes, the creases are kind of fluty and they don't line up straight. I'm not sure why but I made the crease so it follows the path of the leg bone rather than go straight up from the knee. Criticisms help me to improve, so I don't mind at all. I know I have a very long way to go yet so any help in th...

No, I didn't roll the top edge. I wanted to but with 16 ga. stainless it wasn't going to be pretty around those curves.

I have a HF shear that lucky for me worked right out of the box. I probably never would have upgraded to a B2 if I weren't cutting so much stainless or doing this for more than just a hobby. Stainless chips the blades of the HF shear. Comparing the HF shear and a B2 is like comparing a yugo and a Fe...

Chamfron (horse armor)**Pic**

I have a pretty good start on a chamfron I am working on. I still need to figure out the pattern from the crinet (neck armor) yet. The eyeslots aren't lining up correctly in the pictures due to the way it is sitting. It is 20 ga. stainless and 18 ga. brass. [img]http://www.oaksarmoury.com/chamfron/c...

Er, those are just scales riveted onto leather strips. Very easy, though time consuming since there are many, many small pieces. Use two rivets per scale though. Otherwise they can twist and rotate at odd angles. For the knuckle plate use a ballpeen and a block of lead or wood. Then clean up the out...

I haven't used that pattern for a long time. But one way to get a bit more flex is to actually dish the hand piece as well. Only dish just a bit at the wrist end but you will notice a difference. That way the wrist piece doesn't need as deep of a dish. Sasuke ------------------ www.oaksarmoury.com
